MATERIALS ENGINEERING INTERN

POSITION OVERVIEW 
We are excited to offer an opportunity for enthusiastic students in Materials Engineering to join our dynamic advanced materials development team. This role is ideal for candidates eager to gain hands-on experience in the varying fields of materials engineering. As a member of our team, you will engage in a variety of projects that will enhance your skills and knowledge in materials science and engineering.

 

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES 

This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in materials synthesis and characterisation. You will work on real-world applications and collaborate on diverse projects across different engineering disciplines, including mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, and fabrication engineering. 

KEY AREAS 

  • Conduct laboratory sample production utilising advanced powder processing technologies.

  • Manage equipment setup, operation, and maintenance.

  • Perform high-temperature synthesis, sample analysis, and characterisation.

  • Prepare detailed laboratory reports and maintain thorough documentation.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to production-scale operations, including powder mixing and hot isostatic pressing.

IDEAL CANDIDATE 

  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, majoring in materials, metallurgical, or ceramics.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Mechanical/hands-on aptitude.

  • Sound knowledge of materials processing.

  • Proficiency in basic laboratory techniques and technical report writing.

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
